Our Doctor

Summer 2024

Dr. Roxanne Rottiers graduated from Ferris State University and went on to receive her doctorate from Michigan College of Optometry in 2015.  She has been on multiple mission trips through VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) to help those in need of eye care.

She has been working in the eye world since 2005. She started out working in medical records, and then worked her way towards working with patients as a technician and a doctor’s scribe., before eventually working as an optician. She even went as far as to get her opticians certification while going to optometry school.

“I feel very well rounded with the training I have had over the years. I feel like I have a unique perspective compared to a lot of business owners/doctors, having worked in almost every area of an optical office. I can also see and appreciate the viewpoint of a patient since I’ve been wearing glasses since 3rd grade." - Dr. Rottiers

Dr. Rottiers and her husband Kyle grew up in St. Johns and are now living in Grand Ledge with their sons, Elliott and Wesley, and their dog, Diesel. Dr. Rottiers enjoys spending time with friends & family, reading, traveling, camping at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, and visiting Disney World. She would like to see more of the world and hopes to make traveling to new destinations more of a priority.

Jonie

Jonie is one of our amazing Eyewear Experts & Stylists. She has been working at EYES Optometry Boutique for 4+ years and has been in this industry for 20 years. She enjoys working in her hometown, and seeing a lot of familiar faces.

Over the last few years, Jonie has helped to curate our unique eyewear selection at EOB. She has been excited to work with more independent eyewear companies that you can’t find just anywhere!

Question: What do you like most about working at EOB?

Jonie: “I love when I hand a frame to someone and they giggle because they think it might be ‘too over the top’, then when they look in the mirror, they see that it looks amazing!”

Growing up, Jonie’s prescription changed quite rapidly and she had to start wearing glasses and contacts at a young age. Since then, she has worked hard to build up a large knowledge base to help people look good and feel good in their eyewear.

Question: What has been a favorite moment for you at EOB?

Jonie: “I was helping someone new to EYES Optometry Boutique. She told me she was so excited to get her eye exam done here and pick out eyewear because she started noticing people around town with amazing eyeglasses. She had asked several people, and they all said that they got their eyewear from EOB. She said she can always tell who comes to our office because they have amazing, unique eyeglasses! That was a huge compliment to know that I have helped guide and style patients well enough for people to notice! People often ask me to be honest with how the eyewear looks on them. I assure them that I always am! Their style also represents me and my work. I want each person to look fabulous!”

Jonie enjoys walking her dog every day, and spending time with her husband and son. She is lucky to live close to her family and loves to spend time with them, especially in the summer months visiting the lake up by Crystal, Michigan. Jonie enjoys concerts, traveling, and going on cruises with her family.
